About

At the heart of Vilaura is Jascha Oldham-Selak, continuing the proud legacy of the Croatian ‘Selak’ family in New Zealand’s wine industry. His journey began in 2014, while studying Viticulture and Oenology, where his love for Traditional Sparkling winemaking blossomed. In 2018, after years of hands-on experience, he founded Vilaura with a single focus—creating exceptional sparkling wines that celebrate craftsmanship and quality.

Joining forces with Jascha in 2017, Sanne Witteveen brought her own vision to the table, with a background rooted in Dutch hospitality and a passion for winemaking. Since her graduation in 2019, Sanne has carved her path, working across both large and boutique wineries in New Zealand. Her time in Champagne during the 2022 harvest solidified her deep commitment to Methode Traditionnelle, and alongside Jascha, she now leads Vilaura, guiding it to new heights.

Together, Jascha and Sanne are shaping Vilaura into a brand that reflects their dedication to the art of winemaking. With every bottle, they aim to share a piece of their journey—one that honors tradition while embracing innovation, creating wines that are truly worth celebrating.
