This 2022 rosé is a vibrant expression of a traditional Italian off-dry style. Handpicked on March 5 at peak ripeness, the juice was stop-fermented to retain some natural sweetness, creating a wine that’s as intriguing as it is delicious.

The color is a stunning iridescent pink-red with a subtle blue tinge, hinting at its skin-contact origins. The nose bursts with bright, fruity aromas, while the palate offers a rich, sweet softness up front, balanced by a refreshing zing on the finish. A touch of effervescence adds to its playful charm, making it lively and refreshing with every sip.

Perfect served chilled or at room temperature, it’s as versatile as it is enjoyable—whether paired with food or savored on its own.

If you’re after more than a couple bottles and would like to order a case of 6, 12 or more, please send an email to info@boutiqueconnection.co.nz or click here.

About Heron’s Flight

Heron’s Flight was founded in 1987 by David Hoskins and Mary Evans, marking the beginning of a journey that would intertwine their passion for wine with the natural beauty of New Zealand. The couple, who had recently come together, shared a love for wandering the countryside and exploring vineyards in West Auckland. It was during these explorations that they discovered the joy of good conversation over a glass of wine, inspiring them to start their own venture. With no grand plan in mind, their goal was simple: to transform the essence of the grape into a pleasurable experience.

Initially, they planted French varietals, including Bordeaux blends, and won a Gold Medal with their first Cabernet Sauvignon. However, staying true to their adventurous spirit, they soon uprooted the French vines in favor of a more personal discovery: Italian grape varieties like Sangiovese and Dolcetto. For the past 35 years, they have been crafting wines that embody the essence, romance, simplicity, and pleasure of Italian life and the Italian table, all while residing in the picturesque Matakana region of New Zealand.

The name Heron’s Flight came about naturally. After planting their vineyard, David and Mary noticed a group of herons perched on the posts at the end of the vineyard, near a stream. The sight was so fitting, it became the perfect name for their winery, and the herons still grace the land today.
