About
As all great ideas are, Weekend Wines had its inception on a casual Friday night in Cromwell over a bottle or two of wine. Meg Battensby had a deep-seated love for exploring unique wines and a close friend, Tom, has a fervor for experimenting with winemaking. Tired of the corporate world, Meg and Tom teamed up and together they set out to procure the finest grapes from the scenic winegrowing region of Bannockburn in Central Otago.
The most rewarding aspect of this journey has been witnessing people savoring the wines, even though the initial challenge was convincing them to take that first sip!
Weekend Wines stands for celebrating life's simple pleasures. The wines are meticulously crafted for those who hold the weekend in high regard - a time to unwind, connect with loved ones, and indulge in life's finer offerings.
The origins of Weekend Wines trace back to a shared passion for full-bodied wines. The objective was clear: to create a wine that could capture the essence of good times - the laughter, the sumptuous cuisine, and, of course, the exquisite wine.
The dedication to quality is evident in the production of small batch wines. Only the finest grapes from local vineyards are sourced, ensuring that each bottle is a unique representation of the terroir and the winemaker's artistry.
Weekend Wines seamlessly combines a commitment to sustainability with the fundamental belief that wine should be both fun and indulgent. The result is a collection of wines that are playful, fresh, and just a touch sophisticated - designed to be enjoyed right away. Whether it's sharing a bottle with friends during dinner or raising a glass with family, Weekend Wines is the perfect companion for moments of celebration.
Meg sincerely hopes that wine enthusiasts will cherish these creations as much as Meg and Tom do.
