October 30 is a hidden gem in Matakana and you need to know about them.
Located on a North Facing slope in the heart of Matakana Winegrowing Country, you will find this magical hidden vineyard. Named after the Mystical, Passionate Sun Sign Scorpio, which shares the same passion and care they use to grow and make their Organic Wines. Their three hectare vineyard is BioGro Certified and planted in equal sized areas of Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner and Syrah.
The vineyard was planted in 2013, and their first vintage was 2015. Their closely planted vines means they can keep cropping levels low and de-vigorating the vine to produce smaller berries with more intense flavours. Grown in mineral rich volcanic clay, their aim is to produce quality wines inspired from the environment they are grown in and keeping the winemaking to a minimum.
